NELTA conducts/runs various professional development activities for its members. It also collaborates with various professional bodies to offer opportunities for its members to enhance their professional quality and build professional network. Major highlights of activities that it has been doing for its members include the followings:
- Building regional and international network among English teachers and other ELT professionals.
- Regular visit/exchange of visits by people from branches to centre and center to branches.
- Programmes for building capacity of NELTA members.
- Lobbying and advocacy at the centre for branch promotion.
- Establishing/activating/sustaining resource centers at center and branches.
- Providing opportunity for human resource development (HRD) to NELTA members.
- Consultancy and rapport building with other professional institutions.
- Designing teacher training courses.
- Training for English teachers of different levels: pre-primary, primary, lower secondary, secondary, higher secondary and university level.
- Organizing programmes for new members.
- Journal and newsletter publication.
- Participation in regional/international seminars/ conferences.
