Dr. BARBARA LAW
(English Language Fellow with Nepal - Sept. 2011 Onwards)
Dr. Barbara Law has a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Michigan State University. She has taught English Language Learners at all levels, from primary school through graduate school. As tenured Associate Professor of Education, she trained teachers to teach English to non-English speakers. She is lead author of two books about teaching English as a second language. Assessment and ESL, (1995, 2007) and The More Than Just Surviving Handbook: ELL for Every Classroom Teacher (1990, 3rd ed. 2010). She was an English Language Fellow with the U.S. Dept. of State in Syria before coming to Nepal.
She holds a BS in Education, an MAT in TESOL, MS in Interdisciplinary Studies, and her PhD studies were in Community College Administration with a focus on Intercultural Communication.
